Skin spots

SKIN DISCOLOURATION: CAUSES AND REMEDIES

Skin spots, also called discolouration, are areas of the skin with greater pigmentation, making them darker than the rest of the body. The appearance of the spots is generally linked to excessive production of melanin, the natural pigment found in our skin.
The main causes of uncontrolled melanin production are: sun, hormonal alterations, drugs and skin trauma. It is possible to prevent and eliminate skin spots, but doing so requires a global strategy and the use of specific products. There are three key actions: protecting the skin from the sun, lightening spots by inhibiting melanin production, and exfoliating to stimulate cell turnover.
